Covington - Mrs. Kate L. Drake, 84, of Covington, native of Perrysville, died at 12:15 a.m. today in St. Eliabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. Mrs. Drave moved to Covington in 1957 from Perrysville. She was employed 11 years at H-Royse General Store at Perrysville. She was employed in the alteration department at Parisian, Ries Strauss and Kay's stores until her retirement in 1962. She continued doing alterations in her home until her death. She was a member of United Brethren Church at Perrysville since 1930. She attended Perrysville schools. Born March 29, 1892, she was a daughter of Owen and Josephine Morris Dickson. She married William Harrison Drake on Sept 14, 1920. He died Sept. 15, 1947. Surviving are a son Kennard of Covington; two granddaughters, Mrs. Tony (Denise) Wooster and Mrs. Robert (Lynn) Stein of Covington and a great-grandson. Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Thursday in Perrysville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Henry Karg and the Rev. Greg Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Hick Cemetery near Perrysville. Friends may call at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington 2 - 4:30 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and at the church one hour prior to service.
